Anton Hecht, a video artist, together with Andy Jackson made music at a bus stop. For one day, they placed a baby grande piano at Haymarket bus station in Newcastle and invited members of the public to play Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata together, it did not matter if they only 'donated' one or two notes.
"The idea," explains Hecht, "was to get people involved in the playing process: to take something difficult and break it down to a point anyone could join in with it. Though it was only as we started to make it I realised how music making is something anyone can be excited about, regardless of their experience.’
The result is beautiful. Enjoy!
