Yesterday we spent an amazing afternoon with Stephen from Secret Tour Hong Kong.
It is not your standard guided tour about the history, the facts, the figures, etc. It is really about Hong Kong and the people who live here. The things that go right but also the things that go wrong. A social awareness is the undercurrent of the whole tour.
We saw the remnants of a handful of leftover walled cities and we were taken to places which you definitely would not have found by yourself. We then were confronted with the stark difference of Tin Shui Wai, it used to be called the city of sadness.
We ended on a happy note though with the best dumplings, fried noodles and herbal tea to be found in Hong Kong. Just don't ask us where it was as we wouldn't be able to find it back.
If you really want to know a bit more about Hong Kong, these are the people who can tell you and take you there. They do not only do cultural tours but also art walks and photo walks. Their next tour will be on Saturday 26 May.
What can we say? It is a must!
